The 6th Australian Division in the morning launch an attack on the perimeter of the port Tobruk. It would fall by the next morning and this would be extremely valuable to the Allies: deep waters would allow large ships to dock and it was surrounded by escarpments which were useful for fortification against the inevitable attacks.
